BRITTANY ANN TRANBAUGH & JOH CHASE
Brittany Ann Tranbaugh (pronounced TRAN-baw) is a Philadelphia-based songwriter whose queer Americana heartbreaker “Kiss You” won Song of the Year in the 2021 John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
Joh Chase’s latest album is the culmination of a lifetime of writing, losing, loving, and doing it all yourself. The LP adventurously toes the line between genres and sensibilities but it’s all filtered through Chase’s charming and fully-formed vision.
I SEE HAWKS IN LA WITH RICK SHEA & TONY GILKYSON
There were the Byrds, then the Flying Burritos, and a few other notable bands from Los Angeles in the 1960s into the 1970s, and then I See Hawks in L.A. picked up the thread. Their sound might be embedded in the Hollywood Freeway, but underneath it’s really torqued by the Mojave Desert. Listen and hear not only what has come before, but what is also right around the next bend. Really, everything on their ear-opening new album, On Your Way, feels like a new day of music is rising.
Rick Shea & Tony Gilkyson, two guitarists and songwriters with well known resumes: Shea with Wanda Jackson, R.E.M. Gilkyson with Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Dave Alvin . The pair teams up here on each others’ songs.

Though he’s widely-traveled in a variety of genres—from heartfelt folk to buoyant pop to Boho jazz to straightforward rock ’n’ roll, and beyond -- Freund is, simply put, a singer-songwriter with a defined and captivating presence.
